Security deposit and deposit policy

🔹 Why do we ask for a deposit?

At Kay Ludo, we strive to offer everyone a seamless and enjoyable rental experience. To ensure the quality and integrity of our games and accessories, we require a deposit in the form of a bank pre-authorization upon booking.

This precaution allows us to protect games and accessories, while offering customers a rental without immediate additional payment.

⭐In the event of loss or irreversible damage to a rented game, the lender will be reimbursed its replacement value, thus guaranteeing complete protection of their property.


💳 How does the deposit work?

1️⃣ When you book, an amount is pre-authorized on your credit card via PayPal, but no payment is made immediately.
2️⃣ If the game and accessories are returned in good condition and on the due date, the pre-authorization automatically expires at no cost.
3️⃣ In case of a problem (lost, damaged, unreturned game), we may capture all or part of the pre-authorized amount.
4️⃣ You will always be informed before any withdrawal.


📅 Duration of pre-authorization

✔ Bank pre-authorization is valid for a maximum of 30 days.
✔ Once this period has passed, if no problems have been reported, the deposit is automatically cancelled.


🚨 Costs applied in case of problem

We only apply fees in case of non-compliance with the return conditions:

📅 Game returned late

  • +3 days late → $5 extra.
  • +7 days late → $10 extra.
  • Beyond 14 days → The game is considered unreturned and the full deposit will be charged.

🎲 Game returned with missing pieces

  • Missing card, pawn or accessory → $5 per piece.
  • Missing game rule → $5.
  • Part not found after 14 days → Full set billed.

💥 Damaged game

  • Light damage (damaged box, bent card) → $5 to $10 depending on condition.
  • Major damage (unusable game) → Full game charge.

🚫 Game lost or not returned

  • Full billing of the game price (value at the time of rental).


📢 What to do if there is a problem before the game returns?

We understand that accidents can happen!
If any part is missing or damaged, report it as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary costs.

✔ Steps to follow:
1️⃣ 📩 Report the problem at least 24 hours before return

  • Contact us.
  • Indicate the name of the game and the problem encountered.

2️⃣ 🔎 Evaluation and solution

  • We will offer you a suitable solution (replacement, reduction of costs, other arrangement).

3️⃣ 🎲 Stress-free gaming is back!

  • Once validated with us, return the game as planned.
